Google發表OS Chrome，做啥用？

這段或許可以回答，我在每項之前加上編號

computers need to get better.

1. People want to get to their email instantly, without wasting time waiting for their computers to boot and browsers to start up.

2. They want their computers to always run as fast as when they first bought them.

3. They want their data to be accessible to them wherever they are and not have to worry about losing their computer or forgetting to back up files.

4. Even more importantly, they don't want to spend hours configuring their computers to work with every new piece of hardware,

5. or have to worry about constant software updates.

1這項，若是以一般人常用的功能，e-mail、browser，確實是個值得考量的方向。

目前PC的幾個主要的OS都是通用設計，任何事物，越是多功能，難免就越複雜越慢。

精簡版的OS還是不如專為internet而打造一OS。

另一方面，目前主要的OS都是file system based，若無一個夠大的file system幾乎就不能動...

這與Google的web based方向不搭，不弄個OS大概很難壓低硬體成本。

2這項擺明要推Google的web application，看起來雖然很合理，實際上因為頻寬與latency，難免受限。

然而對於便宜、低速度的PC而言，或許是個好solution。

對於公司的IT部門而言，這種形式也容易控管、維護。

前提當然還是老話，必須確定一定有internet，這點似乎越來越可能做到，但總是有限。無論如何，對90%的人而言，應該沒問題。

3確實Google提供相當大的空間擺資料，但運用別人家的空間，何時Google撐不住，不給你用了，誰也不知道...

當然，對企業而言，自己架server便能解決。

4這就不知道Google指的是啥了...難道他們真有厲害的手法可以解決老是搞不定的driver問題？
